As the nation’s cleanest utility, Southern California Edison is pursuing a transformative target: a 100% carbon-free California by 2045. Hitting that target is going to take serious investment on SCE’s part. It’s also going to take millions of Southern Californians choosing new behaviors. Going EV. Installing solar. Picking up a smart thermostat. And switching to a different rate plan.
The challenge was mindset. People can feel powerless in the face of lofty communal goals. We needed to change perceptions around smart energy choices. And we needed people to understand that those choices meant a cleaner California for everyone.
So we answered with a rallying cry that made heroes out of everyday people. Whether you’re a Frank or a Candace, a Damien or an Isabella, your choices aren’t small. And because state law requires translations across six languages, we built the work with multicultural audiences in mind from day one.
Since the campaign launched, SCE has exceeded its targets across its clean energy adoption programs year after year.
